The National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM), an institution established by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), has invited applications from distinguished academicians, policy professionals, and regulatory experts for the position of Professor on a contractual basis. The appointment is initially for a period of three years and may be extended depending on the performance of the selected candidate and the institutional requirements.
NISM functions as an autonomous public trust governed by its Board of Governors, with the Chairperson of SEBI serving as the ex-officio Chairperson of the Board. The Institute was created with the objective of strengthening human resource capacity in the securities markets as well as the broader financial sector in India.
Over the years, NISM has emerged as a leading institution in the field of securities market education and research. The Institute offers several academic programs, including a two-year Post Graduate Program in Securities Markets, an LL.M. in Securities Laws and Investment, and a one-year Post Graduate Certification in Securities Markets. In addition to its academic offerings, NISM actively contributes to the development of the financial ecosystem through capacity-building initiatives such as certification programs for market intermediaries, Management Development Programs (MDPs), investor education campaigns, and financial literacy initiatives.
The selected Professor will lead the Institute’s newly established Centre for Regulatory Studies and Corporate Governance, which aims to promote research, policy dialogue, and academic engagement in the areas of financial regulation, corporate governance, and securities market development.
NISM also maintains strong industry linkages and collaborations, enabling effective interaction between academia, regulators, and market participants.
